Sunday 27/march/2022 at a skills youth center in MPIKA for most of you who would like to know more about Zam here is are some few information about the association Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) is an association that was created to address some of the challenges faced by musicians in the country. It was founded in 1979 as the Zambia Union of Musicians (ZUM). Now ZAM has become an entity that is registered under the Registrar of Societies. When the 1994 National Arts Council Act 31 came into force, ZAM was compelled to register as an art association.
Years later, the association was rocked by poor management and administration prompting members to hold an extraordinary conference that amended the ZAM constitution (9 February 2010) and elected a new National Executive Committee.
With another committee in place, the association’s mission is to support and protect Zambian musicians and their music, promote and improve music through coordination, mobilize resources, support quality control, provide advocacy, promote research and networking, facilitate the formation of strong partnerships between and among musicians.
In addition, ZAM also looks at aspects such as professionalism, the commitment of quality, resource management, and transparency among artists.
